Rath Packing Company

CD1190- Entrance to the Rath Packing Company Administration Building. This company has public fallout shelters licensed, marked and stocked in itís Waterloo plant for 14,874 people. (24-26 May 1968)


CD1178- Entrance to public fallout shelter in the basement of Rath Packing Company. This dual-use shelter is stocked with shelter supplies for 1177 people. (24-26 May 1968) They really went nuts with the shelter signs in this place. It's hard to make out, but there is even a sign over the door in the center of the picture.


CD1179- Fire alarm near entrance to Rath Packing Company dual-use public fallout shelter is stocked with supplies for 1075 people. (24-26 May 1968)


CD1180- Dual-use public fallout shelter is Rath Packing Company temp. storage area. It is stocked with shelter supplies for 1075 people. (24-26 May 1968) Two more shelter signs here. The idea of taking shelter in a building full of meat after a nuclear attack when the power would surely have failed ......uggghhh!
