These photos were taken at Black's Department Store in Waterloo, Iowa. I have no information on these images except the captions that are on the back of the 8x10 prints. The images are displayed with the captions as they are written on the back of the prints. Any additional comments that I may ad will appear in Italics.

(24-26 May 1968) I couldn't figure out why the shelter sign appeared to be backwards in this photo until I figured out that it was taken looking into a mirror and the lady is next to the camera (that's her elbow on the left in the photo and the shelter sign is on the wall behind her and the photographer).

CD1172 – Medical Fallout shelter supplies stored in the gas meter room in the basement of Black’s Department Store. Marked public fallout shelters located in the basement and on the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th floors of this building. They are stocked for 6,929 people. (24- 26 May 1968) I count 7-Medical Kit C's, 2-Radiation Kits (boxes with stick on labels), water barrels through the opening on the right and it appears that there are some Medical Kit A's behind the Med Kit C,s. At least one Med Kit A label is just visible at the bottom center of the photo by the gas valve in the foreground.
