Dosimeter Adaptors
These come with the PP-1578A/PD Charger.
Note: The canisters are only 1 inch tall, ¾ inch in diameter.

These items are size adapters for U.S. military dosimeter chargers.
The normal charging pedestal fits U.S. military and most civilian
dosimeters, including American Civil Defense models.

Dosimeters made for the militaries of Austrailia, Britain, and Canada
were different diameters.  When they standardized under the
ABC (Australian, British, Canadian) Tripartite Standardization
Agreements, two dosimeter diameters were standardized.

Under the latest NATO STANAGs the U.S. size was adopted,
and the adapters were no longer necessary, in theory.  But as
supplies of ABC standard sizes were still in operation, the adapters
were still included in the charger kit so that U.S. troops could make
use of pre-NATO-standard ABC dosimeters if necessary.

The "crown" centers the dosimeter barrel over the pedestal,
and the plastic components adapt the interior diameters of the ABC
dosimeters to the center conductor of the NATO sized charging pedestals.
